Trupiano’s was started by my parents Damiano and Santina Trupiano on the Northwest side of Chicago back in 1971.  My father had the urge to become successful in the United States and my mother only bringing her parents family recipes began their restaurant odyssey.  They had just arrived to the United States from Sicily and barely spoke any English.  The word quickly spread of the delicious home-style cooked meals and business quickly took off. 

Dad was ready to open more restaurants.  They moved from Chicago and set up down river from Detroit, MI in a small town called Rockwood.  Dad was not going to stop there, new locations popped up in Monroe, MI, and Toledo, OH.  In 1985 my parents came to visit a cousin in California and after enjoying the warm and sunny January days, my father decided that California would be our next stop. 

In 1985 we made the transition and have opened restaurants in Orange County, San Diego County and Riverside County.  Trupiano’s currently operates four family restaurants.  Dad can be found at Dominic’s at the Oceanside Harbor, my brother on Main St. in Fallbrook, my sister at Rustico’s in Murrieta, and for mom she is now retired and enjoying her grand kids.
